Mmmm-MM!

That's some good McCarthyism, there:

AURORA, Colorado (AP) -- About 150 high school students walked out of class to protest a decision to put a teacher on leave while they investigate remarks he made about President Bush in class, including that some people compare Bush to Adolf Hitler.

Evidently the school has a policy "requiring balancing viewpoints in the classroom", according to the article, and the father of one of the students in the class where the teacher made the remarks took exception and reported it to the school principal:

"After listening to the tape, it's evident the comments in the class were inappropriate. There were not adequate opportunities for opposing points of view," she said.

Well, golly. I sure hope they make time for, say, Holocaust Revisionism when they teach World War II, and for that matter time for a pacifist view of war in general, and teach the Soviet point of view during the Cold War, and so on. 'Cause I'd really hate to think this was just about hypocritically smacking down a teacher for criticizing the Monkey King. Freedom of speech and all that, you know.
